Consuming the Arts: "Conspiracies" 11/16/2011

Clarissa is returning to the Consuming the Arts project on November 17th to perform brand new songs in their "Conspiracies" show. She played a few songs for them last year, and she is very excited to debut new stuff! Details below:

"Salutations, Art Lovers!

This month we present "Conspiracies!"  Come share a night of art where things aren't exactly as they seem!

Hear the beautiful and powerful voice of Clarissa Barton as she joins us with songs that tell it like it is and put rumors to rest.

Newcomer Erin Hammond brings her haunting and romantic pieces to our Artist's Corner!

Debuting her first documentary, Aurora Lizardi brings us a bold piece about the big and little truths that never get heard.

Evan Baughfman returns with a one-act about the startling realities of office politics.  Someone call Human Resources on this one!

Also, we proudly present the breathtaking work of dancer Jerry Rodriguez as he explores the complexities of the human condition through movement.

Don’t miss out!

Lounge Theatre
6201 Santa Monica Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90038 US

WHAT WE'RE ABOUT:

Consuming The Arts Theatre Project is a not for profit Production Company created by Aurora Lizardi and Carrie Factoran that performs in LA one night each month at the Lounge Theatre. Each evening is created around a common theme that changes with each show and features original one-acts, visual art, and an ever changing variety of performing artists.

The bigger picture is to raise funds for a tour across the US visiting low income communities that can't afford art programs, and presenting their students with interactive workshops that will raise self esteem and open their minds to a different way of expression.
Thanks to all of you who make this project happen!

CoachArt Champion Ball 2011 10/21/2011

Last night, I had the honor of attending the CoachArt Champion Ball at the Beverly Hilton. CoachArt is a non-profit organization that provides arts and athletics coaching to chronically ill children. I have been working with them as a volunteer since May, and it was such a pleasure to see so many people gathered to show their support for the families that benefit from the program.

As a voice teacher to a wonderful CoachArt student, I want to thank the honorees, special guests, and attendees of such a wonderful event!

The 50/90 Challenge -- Accepted! 07/04/2011

Today is the first day of The 50/90 Challenge, where songwriters attempt to complete fifty songs between July 4 and October 1 (ninety days). I've been a little stuck in the writing process, so I decided to accept the challenge!

I'm gonna get to work on that now, but I will be posting stuff as the challenge goes on :)

Bustin' the Tunes 05/18/2011

It's been a couple weeks since my last project, but that's not to say that things aren't in the works! I'm very excited to say that I will be spending the summer writing and recording some tunes for everyone! While I enjoyed spending much of last year doing theater, I'm thrilled to be at the keyboard.

I will definitely post material along the way, so stay tuned!
