Clarissa Barton's first acting experience (besides silly home movies) was in fourth grade, when she played
God in a school play.
In high school, Clarissa shared the stage with Academy Award winner George Chakiris and Lee Merriwether in "The King and I"at the McCallum Theater. As a Cal State Fullerton Theater Arts major, she appeared alongside Scott Bakula and Jennifer Paz in a Lorenz Hart tribute at the Mark Taper Forum . Shortly after graduating, Clarissa moved to New York City, where she studied improv with Second City. Through it all, she made time for the occasional silly home movie, too. Clarissa eventually returned to California, and soon became a resident Company Member of The Chance Theater. There, she appeared in numerous productions -- notably, "Cabaret" (Fraulein Kost); "Evita" (Peron's Mistress); and "The Who's Tommy" (The Gypsy), for which she won the Chancie Award for Best Supporting Actress. Now a Los Angeles resident, Clarissa has studied improv at The Groundlings, and has appeared in productions for Sacred Fools Theatre, and the Consuming the Arts Theatre Project. |
