Hey all!

I'm getting ready for a couple of performances for two really great causes!

The first is on March 20th for another Consuming the Arts Theatre Project show called "Sacrifices." It's going to be a great evening of theater, art, film, and music - Jake Newton will also be playing a set. Tickets are $14, and proceeds go toward building a touring company that will bring the arts to schools lacking arts programs. Visit my Facebook Event page for more information.

The second show is on May 6th, for the You Deserve LOVE Campaign gala. The campaign aims to "promote self worth and take a stand against domestic abuse through art." More details to come soon!

I'm very honored and excited to be able to support these causes, and I hope that you will be able to as well!

In case you have not been following me on Twitter or Facebook, I am performing with Consuming the Arts on Tuesday, March 20!

The theme of the show is "Sacrifice," and I just finished writing a new song for it.

Clarissa has debuted the first installment of "12 Songs of Christmas" on her YouTube channel. From December 14th through December 25th, Clarissa will be posting videos of holiday songs. Some songs are from Facebook and Twitter requests, and some are personal favorites. Be sure to tune in every day to see if she plays your request!

Enjoy, and Happy Holidays!

Clarissa is returning to the Consuming the Arts project on November 17th to perform brand new songs in their "Conspiracies" show. She played a few songs for them last year, and she is very excited to debut new stuff! Details below:

WHAT WE'RE ABOUT:

Consuming The Arts Theatre Project is a not for profit Production Company created by Aurora Lizardi and Carrie Factoran that performs in LA one night each month at the Lounge Theatre. Each evening is created around a common theme that changes with each show and features original one-acts, visual art, and an ever changing variety of performing artists.

The bigger picture is to raise funds for a tour across the US visiting low income communities that can't afford art programs, and presenting their students with interactive workshops that will raise self esteem and open their minds to a different way of expression.
Thanks to all of you who make this project happen!

-CONSUMING THE ARTS PRODUCTION TEAM :)"

Last night, I had the honor of attending the CoachArt Champion Ball at the Beverly Hilton. CoachArt is a non-profit organization that provides arts and athletics coaching to chronically ill children. I have been working with them as a volunteer since May, and it was such a pleasure to see so many people gathered to show their support for the families that benefit from the program.

As a voice teacher to a wonderful CoachArt student, I want to thank the honorees, special guests, and attendees of such a wonderful event!

Today is the first day of The 50/90 Challenge, where songwriters attempt to complete fifty songs between July 4 and October 1 (ninety days). I've been a little stuck in the writing process, so I decided to accept the challenge!

I'm gonna get to work on that now, but I will be posting stuff as the challenge goes on :)

Bustin' the Tunes

05/18/2011

It's been a couple weeks since my last project, but that's not to say that things aren't in the works! I'm very excited to say that I will be spending the summer writing and recording some tunes for everyone! While I enjoyed spending much of last year doing theater, I'm thrilled to be at the keyboard.

I will definitely post material along the way, so stay tuned!
